If we have no peace, it is because we have
forgotten that we belong to each other.

Liberian Child Soldier Project
During the summer of 2007, Penelope spent time with former child soldiers living at
the Buduburam Refugee Camp in Ghana. She organized a project that interviewed over
150 child soldiers and compiled data on their experiences during the Liberian Civil
Wars, as well as their current condition within the camp. The data should be published
within the next six months, however, for some insight into her travels and experiences,

Research, News, and Information
Peace, in the sense of the absence of war, is of little value to
someone who is dying of hunger or cold. It will not remove
the pain of torture inflicted on a prisoner of conscience. It
does not comfort those who have lost their loved ones in
floods caused by senseless deforestation in a neighboring
country. Peace can only last where human rights are
respected, where the people are fed, and where individuals
and nations are free.
